Dallas Zoo with The Swift's

Yesterday we went to the Dallas zoo with Amy and the boys. Collin rode a camel, but Reese was a little nervous. She decided to ride the carousel instead. The kids had a great time and Amy and I enjoyed catching up!

Caravella's Going Away Party

The Caravella's are moving to Colorado and we are so sad to see them go. I know they will do great and make new friends easily, but we will miss them bunches! Hope they come to visit often!

Reese's Dance Recital

This last Sunday, Reese had her dance recital. She is taking dance at Powerhouse of Dance Frisco and she had alot of fun! On the way to the recital Reese said, "I am excited because everyone is going to come watch me and bring me flowers." So, not sure she if she was excited about the flowers or the performance, but either way she did great. Reese danced to "Lonely Goatherd" from The Sound of Music. It was a precious routine and the girls performed beautifully. Reese was really excited and had quite the cheering section. This year we also got to watch Cate & Claire perform and they did great too!
After the recital, we all went to celebrate a job well done. We went to Wild About Harry's and had ice cream and some munchies!

Last Day of School at Kidzworld

The last day of school at Kidzworld was a pajama day! I wanted to do something speical for Reese and Collin for their last day of preschool, so I bought both of them a new pair of pajamas and wrote them a little note--just a little surprise for when they woke up! This day was so bitter sweet to me. I woke up way too early and was very emotional. I got out their scrapbooks, just for a little reminiscing and enjoyed looking at how much they had grown in the four years they have been at Kidzworld. I drove them to school and tried to tell them to take it all in, this would be the last drive to Kidzworld and the next time we go to school we will be going to BIG Kindergarten at Sparks. They both reveled in that for a moment and then Reese said, "I am a little sad because Collin won't be in my class." I reassured her and told her you will make lots of new friends, and a couple of our neighbors might be in her class, etc. Then Collin asked her, "Will you still play with me at school?" Reese started welling up with tears and said, "I can't, I won't be in your class." Let me tell you...I was about to cry myself...I quickly jumped in and said,"you never know, you might have recess at the same time, or have lunch together and when you see each other in the halls you can wave at each other". So, we moved on about what will be so fun at elementary school and they both agreed that they love the BIG gym and BIG cafeteria and of course the playground, so I think all will be okay.
We will all miss Kidzworld greatly! As I have posted many times before, we have loved every moment there. The teachers and directors are all absolutely wonderful! How we will miss it all, but time to place our energy into to gearing up for Kindergarten and all the new, exciting experiences in front of us.

End-of-Year Carnival

Slumber Party at our house!

Reese and Collin came to me a week or so ago and asked if they could sleep in each others rooms for a night. When they asked, I was really surprised that they were asking that and hadn't ever done it (unless on vacation). So, I said, sure but let's do it Sunday night because they were asking before a weekend with lots of stuff and I didn't want them to be exhauted.
So, Sunday night came and they were so excited! We tucked them in as usual and when I was about to leave the room, Reese asked, "You know why I never want to sleep in Collin's room?" I asked her why. She said, "because he talks to much and I am TIRED!" I thought wow, you are going to be alot of fun! Well, I left them to talk and giggle, which they did alot of, but within an hour or so, they were both out. They slept great but were up pretty early. I think it is something I can see them doing alot of this summer!!

Brunch & Pedicures

We celebrated a late Mother's Day with my Mom (only a week late) because we all had so much going on Mother's Day weekend. My mom, Amy, Allison, me and now Reese all meet for a casual brunch at Cafe Brazil and then to get pedicures! This was Reese's first pedicure and she sure did enjoy it! Later in the day, her and Collin were talking and she said, "they were rubbing lotion on my feet and it felt SOOO good." I just thought that was cute because that is definitely my favorite part. She picked out her own color (BLUE) and designs (flowers with tiny crystals in the middle). Her nails looked so cute and she was so proud.
I love getting together with my mom and sisters for pretty much any occasion or for no reason at all! I feel so blessed to love my family and to genuinely enjoy spending time and hanging out. I hope Reese and Collin always enjoy me and Jeff (and one another), as much as we enjoy our families! I can think of no greater blessing.
