Broken Bow with the Armondo's

This last weekend we went to Broken Bow, Oklahoma to spend a weekend with friends in the outdoors. We rented an amazing cabin and had the best time. The kids loved every moment of the pajama parties each night, eating "kids" meals for dinner, playing in the lake, swimming in the hot tub, building fires and cooking s'mores, collecting rocks, "crystals", pine cones and playing in the outdoors. We had such a good time with Mike, Janis and the girls. We definitely want to do it again soon--we all agreed that next time we want to go for longer! Such a fun weekend.

Gymnastics/Cheer Camp for Reese

Reese went to a gymnastics/cheer camp at Powerkids this week, while Collin went to tee ball camp. She had a lot of fun and worked hard. She has been taking gymnastics for a couple of years, but all cheer concepts are new. Even though I have a lot of background in cheer, I haven't really gone there with her. She learned how to do jumps, a few little stunts and some other cheer basics.
Brant went to Powerkids this week as well, he attended the sports camp. So, we carpooled and the kids got to see each other each day during camp.

Tee ball camp

Collin attended a tee ball camp this last week and he really learned a great deal. I think part of little ones (ages 4 & 5) playing a sport, is just trying to understand the concept and how the game works. I think this is exactly what this camp accomplished. They were taught simple concepts of infield/outfield, where to throw the ball, when to run 1 base or 2 bases, how to stand when batting, etc. I thought the coaches leading the camp were great with kids.
Collin went to camp with Landry (who will also be on his tee ball team) and they really got to know each other. We played and had lunch a few of the days and the boys had a lot of fun together. What a great week for Collin!!

Corpus with the family

We took a family vacation to Corpus and it was such a great time. The kids adored our purple "cottage" and had the most amazing time playing on the beach and in the waves. While we were there, we took the ferry over to Aransas Pass, this was the first time for Reese and Collin to experience riding a ferry boat while in our car! That evening we ate at a place called "The Big Fisherman". We also went on a "Dolphin Excursion" one morning and that was pretty spectacular as well. We rode a catamaran out into the ocean and we could see the dolphins right up by the boat. There were usually 2-3 dolphins at a time and we could see them swimming and jumping. The kids loved seeing them. While we were, we also met up with one of Reese and Collin's friends from preschool. Kileigh and her parents (Michele & Darren) met up with us at the beach and we hung out all day and let the kids play. It was a fun day for all!! After our trip, we all decided we need to make this an annual trip--what special family time!!

Girls Trip to Destin

In July, I went on a girls trip to Destin. We had the best time hanging out, chatting, relaxing, eating kid-free dinners and enjoying adult beverages :) It was a nice, little get away and Destin was absolutely beautiful.
