We had more snow today and it was just as exciting as the last 2 times....I don't know if they would ever get tired of seeing it snow! They starting running around, squealing and yelling that it was snowing and I knew we would be heading out to play soon. I was trying to convince them to wait until it accumulated a little, so we could do some snow angels and attempt a snowman. After about an hour or so, we went out and played for about an hour (each had to change gloves 3 times)! Finally, I had to throw in the towel, but it sure was a good time! Daddy got home shortly after and we built a fire and had some hot chocolate! After a day indoors, we had some much needed outdoor fun!!

Last but not least....Christmas with the Miller's!

The day after Christmas, we had our 3rd day of celebrating Christmas at Coco and Papa's house. Another blessed day of family and great company. We exchanged gifts once again and the kids had a ball. We had fondue for dinner and it was so yummy! For dessert, the men whipped up some crepe's and they were delicious. I was so impressed!

WHEW!!! I am exhausted! Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, but after, I am ready to crash and burn. I would not trade any of it for the world, but I am looking forward to a low key week and some serious down time!

Christmas Day at My Mom's

After lots of playing, eating donuts and getting packed up again, we headed to my Mom's house. The kids were so excited to get there. We had a wonderful day and the kids loved playing with their cousins (even though we see them all the time). Mom made a yummy Christmas lunch, complete with noodles and the house was decorated beautifully. We had a great time and I don't know who had more fun, the kids or the adults.

The kids loaded up on more loot and ended up riding their new scooters (compliments of Nana and Apa') for the last hour or so we were there. Nana and Apa' have recently coverted a garage to a large family room. It has central heat/air and concrete floors and hasn't been completely finished out yet--so it was perfect for the kids to run around, play and ride their scooters!

I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family (both my side and Jeff's). We leave our families and I always say, "I love my family". We have so much fun and enjoy ourselves and the kids do too. I don't know what we would do without every, single one of them. We love all of you dearly!! Thank you for a wonderful 3 day celebration of Christmas!

White Christmas--Santa!!!

It was only appropriate that we had a white Christmas. Reese has been convinced that it definitely snows on Christmas. In fact on Wednesday the 23rd, she said, "It is can't be Christmas it isn't even cold". Then on Christmas Eve, she said, "It's Christmas--it's snowing!" I had been trying to tell her all month long that it might not snow on Christmas, but she was convinced it would and Santa delivered!

On Christmas morning...little feet came running into our bedroom to wake us up. Collin asked, "Can we go see if Santa came?" I told him we had to wake Reese up and get our cameras ready, so he ran in to wake up Reese and they came back ready to go. They were both so excited and they could not believe their little eyes with all of the goodies that Santa brought. They opened many gifts, looked thru their stockings and the favorites seemed to be a white kitty that Santa brought to Reese and for Collin it was a Blue Angels jet. They have been playing non-stop and having so much fun! After almost all of the opening, unpacking, putting batteries in, we looked up and saw.......a TRAMPOLINE!! The kids could not believe their eyes and said, "Santa must have a VERY BIG sleigh". After all the celebration, the kids went to check out the snow and to see if the Reindeer ate their food...and they ate almost every last morsel. Reese said, "we can see the Reindeer tracks" and Collin was excited and kept saying "Santa's foot prints". There foot prints and Reindeer tracks all thru the yards and all along the sidewalks! What a Christmas to rememeber!!

Christmas Eve

Since snow was falling fast and furiously, the temperatures were dropping and the roads were supposedly starting to freeze, we decided we better head back to Dallas--after a fun filled day at Papa and Cha Cha's. The drive home was filled with fun and laughter, and Reese and Collin were completely giddy and squealing with excitement at the thought of what Christmas morning might bring. To hear the pure joy in their little voices was a reminder of what Christmas is all about. They were both talking about hoping to hear Santa's bells and wanting to see the reindeer...but they both knew that had to be asleep in order for Santa to come. Reese must have said 100 times, "I am so excited!--I can't wait". Collin was trying to figure out how he could peek on Santa and sneak in and see him. They were both just so cute.
Well...................the excitement soon turned to grumpy, tired little monkeys after driving 1.9 miles in about 2.5 hours time. On our way home, highway 380 was shut down due to an accident and the weather and the other roads were completely iced over. It took us over 3 hours to get home from what should have been and hour and fifteen minute drive. We FINALLY (safely) made it home and for that we were very thankful.

We then had our own little family Christmas that we always start off by reading "The Christmas Story", reminding all of us why we give gifts at Christmas time. The kids each get 3 gifts representing the 3 wisemen who brought Baby Jesus gifts because they LOVED HIM. So, we give gifts at Christmas to show our love and to say "Happy Birthday, Baby Jesus".

After the kids opened their 3 presents, we made a plate with cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. We also poured a big glass of milk and then went outside to sprinkle reindeer food on the snow-covered lawn. It was then off to bed -- for Santa and his elves had work to do!
