Disney on Ice
Aunt Amy and Uncle B treated us to "Disney on Ice". Uncle B's company has a box at the American Airline Center, so they offered to let us join them. You kids loved the show and all the treats--popcorn, cotton candy, cookies, juice, etc. What a fun time with your cousins!! Collin was dying to see Buzz Lightyear and when he came out he told all of us, "I TOLD you Buzz Lightyear would be here". Reese told me after the show that the princesses were real because she could see their faces. I know our fairy tale days are coming to an end soon and believing all the characters are "real", so it is nice to make the most of these years while they still believe and can truly enjoy the magic of Disney!

First Baseball Game of the season
Coach Rod petitioned to have the boys moved up to 6U coach pitch for baseball this spring. It was approved, so we officially have moved from tee ball to coach pitch baseball. Jeff is pitching for our team, so he has been helping alot with the boys. Our old team name the "Astros" was taken, so we have changed the "Stampede". Looking forward to fun season and watching our boys play well. We are so excited to have most of our team back with a couple new players--GO STAMPEDE!!!
Spring Break in Corpus
The Armondo's were kind enough to invite us to stay with them for the week in Corpus. We had such a great week--the kids got to stay up late, eats tons of junk, play on the beach, swim in the hot tub and play with "older" kids that are friends of the Armondo's (that also have condos in Corpus). Janis' best friend Daphne, and another friend Samantha, have kids that are older than our kids and they were so good with the little ones. They played Wii with them, hide n' seek, games, etc. I was so impressed at how sweet they were with our kids. Reese and Collin loved it, because they don't get to play with older kids often. We had a wonderful week and are so appreciative of Mike and Janis for having us!

Collin...my little thinker
Collin is my child who has tons and tons of questions, thinks alot, dreams alot and is very excitable. This is wonderful in so many ways, but it also has a downside. Lately, he is obssessed with the concept of dying, what happens when you die, when is he going to die and a fear of dying. This has been so hard for me. I always try to be as honest as possible with my children, but of course, on his level. So, over Spring Break, I hear him crying at night and go to him. He is sobbing and telling me, "I don't want to die". I tell him, "you don't need to worry about that, that is 1 million night-nights away". He asks, "Will I come back alive after I die?" I just didn't have the heart to say "No", so I asked him, "do you want to?" He answered, "yes" and so I just left it at that. I have a policy that I do not believe in lying to my children, but I didn't want him to be more fearful and worry. I went on to explain that when we die, we go to heaven. Heaven is perfect and wonderful, there will be no more boo-boo's, everyone is kind, and you will be with all the people who love you so much. We prayed and he seemed to calm down, but I just felt so sorry for him.
The next morning at breakfast, he asked the girls (Reese, Ashton & Arabella), are yall scared to die? They said COL-LIN!!! They didn't give much more of a response than that.
THEN, the other night I was tucking him in and he said, "Mommy, I don't want you to die" and I said, "Collin, I am not going to die for a really long time, you don't need to worry." After discussing the last couple of incidents with friends, one of them suggested trying to get him to visualize and define heaven. So, I asked him, "what do you think heaven looks like?" He said, "a really scary place." I then tried to once again explain the pleasantries and perfection of heaven and tried to get him to participate. I am hoping we can find some peace with this soon. I am trying to find some good books, from the Christian perspective on dying, that are on his level, so if you have a good one you recommend, let me know!

Career Day
Thursday, March 11, was "Career Day" at Kidzworld. Leading up to this day, Collin changed his mind from being a chef, to a fireman, to a police man and finally ended up a handy man/construction worker (depending on when you asked him). Reese really wanted to be a "butterfly", but I kept trying to explain to her that a butterfly is not a career/job. Finally she decided on being a ballerina, but only if she could change her mind later!

Reese Scored a Goal!!
Last week at practice, Coach Rob and Coach Bart started a new motivational strategy with the "Glitter Girls" and those are "Hustle Chips". Each of the girls has their own cute pink bucket with bows with their name on it, if any of the girls are working hard, hustling or making a big effort, she might earn a "hustle" chip. When each player earns 10 chips, they get to have an ice cream party! So, last week, during the game I felt like Reese was really trying to be more aggressive. She even scored a goal!!! I was so proud of her and I could tell she was proud of herself. I am hoping these hustle chips will give Reese a little motivation, which will in turn help build her confidence. GO REESE!!!

Two weeks ago today was Pajama Day at at school, so I wanted to share how cute my little angels were!! Reese and Collin were so excited to wear their PJ's and slippers. I always think this is a fun day for the school to have for kiddos.
