This last week, Aunt Amy invited us to go to the park (Frisco Commons) and do a little exploring. We got their before them, so yall played on the playground for a little bit, then we headed to the "forest". Yall loved finding sticks, picking up rocks, throwing them in the small creek and just walking thru all the trees. It was fun to watch yall be excited about nature, but it was hot and yall were tired at the end of our LONG walk. There is a fountain, and yall played in that to cool down when we finished all of our walking.

Easter Sunday at Nana & Apa's
Since we went to the Easter service at church on Saturday, after the Easter bunny visited and the kids hunted the eggs, we headed to my Mom's. It was cold and rainy, so not an optimal morning for Easter. Nana & Apa' got the kiddos some really cute things in their baskets and the kids were excited! Once the Devlin's arrived, the kids all decided they wanted to play in the puddles. Well, Amy was smart and brought rain boots, but we have none, so my kids played in the cold rain puddles....can you say "Mom of the Year"?? Only kidding, the kids had such a good time and was well worth any sickness they might endure from being cold and wet. After playing and getting cleaned up, we had a wonderful lunch (check out my Mom's cute Easter cupcakes). Then, all the kids decided they were tired, but only one (Cate) ended up actually sleeping. The other kids dyed Easter eggs and played. The weather cleared up and they spent most of the afternoon running around and playing. Always such a great time in Kemp, my kids were begging to stay, but everyone had to work Monday morning. Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!!

FIRST Soccer Game--Lil' Strikers
This last Saturday was Reese & Collin's first soccer game. The kids were so excited and warm-ups went very well. Then, the game started. Collin seemed a little intimidated and wasn't quite sure what to do. I have to give him this, they had their first practice on Thursday and they haven't even had the kids scrimmage one another. I don't think he even realizes what a soccer game IS. He seemed a little overwhelmed for most of the game, but started to warm up and attempted to get involved after half-time. Reese ran up and down the field very quickly to follow the "mob"--she also started to jump in and try to kick the ball more as the game went on. The last couple minutes of the game Reese pulled a hang nail and that was the ONLY thing she was worried about once that happened. I hope Reese and Collin can start to figure out exactly how this whole soccer thing works and will start getting in there and being more assertive. They both had a lot of fun and I do think that is most important at this age. HURRAY for REESE & COLLIN and the Lil' Strikers! Looking forward to the next 7 games!

First Soccer Practice for Lil' Strikers
Reese and Collin had their first official soccer practice EVER. They are playing indoor soccer at Blue Sky and their team is the Lil' Strikers. They both did such a GREAT job and had alot of fun--they were sad to leave. Jeff and I were so proud of them and we are looking forward to the game on Saturday. Go Lil' Strikers!
Bluebonnet Pictures
As we were on our way to Powerkids (tumbling for Reese & sports class for Collin), we ran across a patch of bluebonnets. I had to stop and take a few pictures. The kids didn't really like sitting in them, so I had to get the shots as quickly as possible. I thought a few of them turned out pretty cute....considering this was a stop I made on the fly and had not prepared for!
Kidzworld Easter egg hunts & parties
Today Reese and Collin had their Easter egg hunts and their Easter parties at school. They both had such a great time. Collin's class colored eggs, made "Egg" chicks, decorated Easter pictures and had their egg hunt. Reese's class had their egg hunt, then made a wind sock, decorated "Cross" cookies, pitched marshmallows into baskets and bowled. Both classes had pizza for lunch and more treats than should be allowed in preschool---heehee!
For their egg hunts, the teachers has each parent bring 12 eggs with a name of each class mate per egg. I thought this was such a great idea--because each kid hunts for the eggs with his/her name. So, it makes the hunt a little more challenging AND they all end up with an equal number of eggs! What a fun day!
