The State Fair of Texas

We had so much fun at the fair today. We went with Aunt Ali, Uncle Andy, Nana, Apa', Aunt Amy, Uncle B and Brant, Cate & Claire!!!! Lots of little monkeys to keep up with. The kids had a blast on the rides and even won little stuffed animals. We all ate too much junk, but that's what you do at the fair--right? Shout out to Daphne--we had a great time :)

Happy Birthday Amy!

It is Amy's birthday tomorrow (Monday). We went out to celebrate last night (Saturday). We went to dinner at Patrizio's and then went out for a drink at Lochran's. We enjoyed our evening out and had a great time with Amy and Brian. Amy, we hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Pumpkins on the Prairie

It has been a hectic couple of weeks around here. Since I returned from New York, Reese has been sick. She finally got an antibiotic and went back to school on Thursday. So, after a couple of really crazy weeks, we decided to have some fun with the kids this weekend. Yesterday (Saturday) we took them to a little pumpkin patch right by our house. The kids had fun looking at all the pumpkins and picking a couple out, playing hopscotch, jumping in the bounce house, riding the hay ride and playing the games set up for the kids.

New York

Thursday we arrived around 1:00 in the afternoon and took a limo to our hotel! We definitely wanted to arrive in style :) After getting checked in, we were starving, so we went and had a drink and ate at a brewery close to our hotel. After that, we walked the streets of NY, just to take it all in. We went to H & M and did a little shopping, then headed back to our hotel to get ready for the evening. We ate an awesome dinner at an Italian restaurant and then went back to the hotel for drinks.

Friday morning we got up really EARLY and headed down to the Today Show. Our friend got picked for the Ambush Makeover segment, so that was really exciting! We were all on TV, and our friend Laura looked amazing. We got to go in the studio, sit in the green room, and see behind the scenes of the show (see pic below). We are FAMOUS!!! You can see the clip from the here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/27009123#27009123 . After that we headed to Serendipity, where we had lunch and shared a Hot Frozen Cocoa--YUM! Next, we headed to China Town. That was quite the experience in itself. We then headed home, rested, and went to Times Square and ate pizza. Low key night, but after such an eventful day, we were TIRED!

Saturday morning, we slept in and had a slow morning. We then headed to the ferry to Ellis Island (to see the immigration process) and the Statue of Liberty. This was really neat and a piece of history I was glad to have seen in person. After that, we went to Century 21--so overwhelming and lots to dig around in, but didn't end up buying ANYTHING....too crazy for me. We RUSHED home, got ready, and went to see the muscial "Legally Blonde". It was such a cute show and right up my alley :) After, we went to Johnny Utah's, had drinks and Shannon rode the mechanical bull. She held her own and did a really good job--too funny!
Sunday, our last day, we packed up and got ready to go home. Lori, Deborah and I went and grabbed breakfast. Deborah and I then headed down to Central Park--we took one of those tours where the guys pulls us around on his bike (poor guy!). This was such a great way to see the park and to learn about the history. After our tour of the park, we headed back to the hotel, and headed to the airport. We had such a great trip--can't wait to go back with Jeff. We had an action packed 4 days, but still alot we didn't get to do and see. As you can see in the last picture, we were all tuckered out and ready to be home.

No Place Like Home

After and amazing 4 days in New York (pics and details coming soon), I was so ready to be home and to see Jeff, Reese and Collin. We had such a great time, but as we all know, there is no place like home. I knew Jeff and the kids were coming to pick me up from the airport, but much to my surprise, when we got to baggage claim, there were Reese and Collin running to me--they actually came INSIDE. I was so excited to see them, as they were to see me. Jeff had made them each a little bouquet of flowers to give me and they ran with them to give me hugs and kisses. I was thrilled to see all 3 of them and it was such a sweet, unexpected surprise that they came inside to welcome me home. What an awesome treat to come home too!
